Bengaluru: The shooting of the Malayalam movie Abhasam was Friday stalled by a group of people who created ruckus for using a bus with the picture of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan.
The filmmakers were forced to stop the shooting until the picture was removed from the bus. The police gave the permission to resume shooting once the picture was removed.
The shooting of the film Abhasam, directed by Judith, has been taking place in Bengaluru's Hoskote for the past two weeks.
The issue started after the photo of the bus along with Jinnah's picture was shared on social media labeling it as 'traitors'. As the photo went viral, a group of people came to the shooting location, later creating commotion.
The movie has Rima Kallingal and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead roles. Abhasam is a satirical movie with Suraj essaying the role of a bus conductor and Rima as a passenger of the bus.
