Kochi: The mobile phone, which was used to record the video of the Malayalam actress getting molested by tormentors, is with arrested Malayalam actor Dileep, the police said on Friday.

The police said it in their report challenging Dileep's bail plea. The police suspect that the phone was handed over to Dileep by Pratheesh Chacko, the lawyer who represented prime accused Pulsar Suni, Manorama News reported.

Dileep was not willing to pay Suni the promised amount after he committed the crime. Following this, Suni tried to blackmail the actor, the police report said.

The investigators have served a notice to Chacko to interrogate him in connection with the case. The police also said the accused may resort to defaming the victim if he is granted bail.
